We believe in the Olympians: Hestia, Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Hermes, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Dionysus.
We believe in many other Goddesses and Gods of Greek Myth as well.
We follow the Wiccan Wheel of the Year, with a few Greek Wicca adjustments and additions.
We learn the Greek Myths and the lessons they have in our lives today.
Greek Wicca is a polytheistic religion. While most of us have a Patron Deity that specifically calls to and connects with us, we do not discount the other Gods and Goddesses and how They interact with us, and effect the Wheel of the Year and the world around us.
Most of us are here on these pages because Hellenism - a reconstruction of the original Greek religion and how they worshiped millenia ago, isn't for us. We are Wiccan, but we are still called by the Greek Pantheon and have a close connection to Them. We want to practice Wicca and worship the Greek Goddesses and Gods. And that is ok - that is why I created Greek Wicca back in the 1990's and put these pages up for anyone else that is called by the Olympians like me.
If you are new to Wicca - then you will want to begin at my Year And A Day pages, which will take you week by week (and eventually day by day) through the foundations which you will want to learn to become a basically educated Wiccan, but it is written specifically for Greek Wicca.
Ours is a fluid religion, and I want you to take what works for you, and change what needs to be changed for you, and discard what doesn't work for you. This is a personal path - one that is for You, and while I can give you guidance, there is nobody in our religion that can tell you the one true way to do or believe in anything - we are not a super highway to the heavens - we are a roadmap with many pathways, roads, railroads, canals, airports, exits - hundreds of ways to follow your path. Greekwicca.com is simply a roadmap for this particular path, and I hope it is a rewarding and fulfilling path.
I believe the starting point of this path is grounding, centering, raising and directing energy, and the building of your Inner Temple. After that is the path Wicca takes us through the Wheel of the Year - and you will find that here in Greek Wicca there are more than just the 8 Sabbats (major Wiccan Holidays), there are other holy days drawn from Hellenism that add more depth to our religion and enrich our path.
